It was compiled by Laurence Cane-Honeysett, who also wrote the linernotes. This double album, focusses on the Beverley's catalogue and includes some of the finest and most popular Jamaican recordings from a fascinating period during which rock steady became established as the islands national sound. The 28 tracks here provide ample evidence of the superior quality of Beverleys output from this time and why, by the summer of 1967, Beverleys Records vied with the likes of Studio One and Treasure Isle as Kingstons leading record company.
