This album was Tony Joe Whites second for Warner Brothers, produced by Tom Dowd & Jerry Wexler at Muscle Shoals Sound, Alabama and featuring the legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. The Train Im On is a stone classic. This is one of The Swamp Fox better albums. Theres a great deal of stylistic variety at work in the songs. More acoustic guitars than electric and theres not a note out of place in any of the playing or the deft arrangements. From the opener "Ive Got A Thing About You Baby" that bounces joyfully with the anticipation of a new romance to "Beouf River Road" which has lively percussion including a Jews harp that throbs like a swamp frog to The Migrant and the lovely ballad "The Gospel Singer."
