Celebrating its 40th anniversary this June, London 0 Hull 4 captured the hearts of UK audiences, propelling the album into the Top 10, achieving platinum sales and spawning a run of memorable singles, most notably the irresistible Happy Hour. The album established The Housemartins as one of the eras most distinctive and independent-minded bands, while showcasing the talents of Paul Heaton and Norman Cook, both of whom would go on to enjoy hugely successful and influential careers of their own. Beyond Britain, it also cemented the groups growing international profile, particularly across Europe.
