Originally released in 1981, Orchestra Baobabs second studio album, *Sibou Odja* produced at the Golden Baobab in Dakar by the young producer Ibrahima Sylla has been reissued by Syllart Records.
Following their masterpiece *Mouhamadou Bamba*, recorded in the same year, *Sibou Odja* was to once again make its mark on the history of Senegalese music, propelling the groups success into a new musical decade. Under the leadership of the dynamic saxophonist Issa Sissokho and the ever-present guitarist Barthlmy Attiso, it was notably the young singer Mdoune Diallo a future icon of Senegalese salsa who delivered one of his masterpieces with the irresistible Autorail, a driving track celebrating the opening of the railway line linking Dakar to Niamey.
The mastering was carried out using the master tapes from the albums studio recording. The cover is a reproduction of the original. The LP includes a printed inner sleeve. The cover features a glossy finish to remain as faithful as possible to the original release.
