Released in 1993, Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space) by Digable Planets is a landmark in alternative hip-hop. Blending laid-back jazz samples with conscious, Afrocentric lyricism, the album introduced a fresh, sophisticated sound that stood apart from the eras mainstream. Featuring the Grammy-winning hit Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat), the album flows with smooth grooves, poetic storytelling, and a distinctly cool vibe. A timeless fusion of jazz and hip-hop, Reachin remains an essential listen and a defining statement of early 90s creativity and style.
