In 1953 Buddy Rich started releasing albums as leader, or co leader. He collaborated with a wide range of other musicians, including contemporary drummers such as Max Roach and Gene Krupa. Additionally, he made albums with Trumpeter Harry ''''Sweets'''' Edison, saxophonist Lester Young, percussionist Lionel Hampton, pianist Art Tatum, and tenor Flip Phillips. All the records he made with these musicians are featured on this new collection.
