AUGUST 19 - London band World News announce their eagerly anticipated debut album In Purgatory for October 16th. New single The Way It Goes comes with the news and is yet another shining example of the quartets canny knack of crafting engaging retro-indie that feels right at home in the current landscape.

Debut album In Purgatory collects 11 of these gems together, taken from across the bands sprawling opening era. The new single is evidence of this, as well as the evergreen thematic approach which chimes with the timeless sonics. As vocalist Alex Evans explains:
The way it goes was mostly written and demod back in 2020. The lyrics dont possess too much of a story, but are more phrases, thoughts and collections of words of how I was feeling at the time. The album has a few songs on it similar to this that were written a few years ago, whilst some of the other tracks were written more recently, and in some cases weeks/days before hitting the studio (like Sidestep). Were all very excited to share the album with everyone.

The Way It Goes follows Aprils aforementioned Sidestep - which captured the imagination of Rolling Stone (UK) and NME - in building on a turning-point year for the band.
